Sepia life for me....

Hola Hola Everyone!!! 

With the sun out and shinning these past few weeks every few days or so-I have been so excited!!!!! I get to not only enjoy the awesome sun rays but I also get to bust out my shades!  I love love love love love vintage sunglasses-for a period  back in 2007 I had a pair of vintage cat-eye Ray Ban's that I wore 24/7-no joke!!! One because I loved them so much & two I had my prescription put in them! It was wonderful-I loved them so much!! Sadly someone nabbed them while I was on a trip in San Fran-so sad!! I hope to be rejoined with them one day-I can dream!!! 

Last year I did find a pretty nice pair on ebay-their a reproduction pair but hey if the shoe fits! So anyway back to my story----Just as I am about to give myself a big high five for finishing up work orders early-Mando runs in with a giant box!!! Of course my eyes glowed and I went through my mental rolodex trying to figure out what I bought myself in the last two weeks-that is now-finally here! Then I remembered 'oh yeah Dottie-NOTHING!' I kinda got sad for a min....but then realize 'ohhhh no yes yes yes-some of custom company merchandise we ordered!' At last!!! I was so happy once Mando ripped open up the box!!! Inside there was some wonderful eye candy!!!! It was such an amazing feeling to see sooooooooooo many cool things with our logos & names on them! I am over the moon!!!!I can not wait to take our new goodies to Lone Star next week!!! I really hope our customers enjoy everything!!!

So that concludes the tour!!! I am so happy how everything turned out! I am so grateful to Chuko our amazing graphic designer for making our logos from pen and ink to wonderful high resolution goodness!!!! I can not wait till we get the $ to make more shirts! We will have mens tshirts and girls baseball tees! They will be available for purchase very soon! There is so much going on with Lone Star coming around next week-so back to the grind for me! I am in love with her!!! She looks like she is filled with chocolate! Or like my friend Jimmy said an award! As much as I love cats-Mando's dogs have seriously won me over! I think its the funniest thing ever-every time I have asked Mando to make a cat logo for me-he straight out refuses!! I know last time I got him so good posting pics of him sleeping with kitten tea pot on his back so00000000-I thought okay...its only fair for me to poke fun at myself at my own expense to get a few chuckles out of him!

A day in the life of......

!!!!!HOLAAAAAA  EVERYONE!!! 

Finally I am back!!! I Have been really crazy busy doing just about everything!!!!I could not even write out a ''To Do'' list even if I wanted too!! I had so much sorting out to do with unnecessary chaos in my life..... I am happy to report all that excess baggage is all gone and done with. I am over all of it- Thank you Jesus!!!!! So I have definitely been moving forward on all positive notes!!!!

I have been sooooo busy doing all the up keep on Mando's blog brownmagicpaintco.blogspot.com-what a job!! I definitely appreciate all the efforts all of you put into your blogs and sharing your life with the rest of us!!! Its hard work!!!!!!

Sooooooo....Finally I had to take a lil moment to share how awful my life is at the present moment and how unappreciated I am!!!!!! So I was up all day friday into the wee hours of saturday...I then had to wake up and be subjected such an awful day...THANKS MANDO! *rolls my eyes*

*So I get to wake up to a beautiful sunny day! Dang why ohhh why must my days start off like this???*

*Then there is fresh coffee waiting me-seriously!??!!?*

*No idea or clue why Mando thought making fresh crepe batter from scratch would be a good idea? I know right?!?*

*Was it really necessary to make enough to have left overs? Really?*

*I know peanut butter crepes are some of my favorites-BUT......*

*Was it really necessary for Mando to hand roll&fill them for me- AND bring fresh O.J.? REALLY?!!?!!!!*

Lol in all seriousness-I was up till 7a.m. working my tail off!!! ON just about everything for VLV Fashion Show-which we just happen to be proud Platinum Sponsors for!!!!! YAY US!!! CAN NOT WAIT TO SHOW ALL OF YOU WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TOO!!!

Then working on making a load of stuff for Lone Star in Austin Texas!!!!!!  All while busting my hump on all of our work orders & handling all of our etsy/ebay sells etc. So waking up to a beautiful sunny saturday morning AND having a wonderful breakfast await me- well made me smile & just really realize how now more than ever that I am blessed-VERY BLESSED!!!!

Thank you Mandito!!!! I pinky-promise not to make fun of your giant head anymore-this weekend! I really hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We Have so many cool pictures and projects coming up!!!! I really  can not wait to share them all with you!!!!!!!

She's Aliveeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hola Everyone!!! Dottie here :) Sorry it has been a while since I posted a blog!!! We (Mando and I) are crazzzzzzy busy right now working on so much stuff! See you all in Texas very soon! We usually make anything and everything for our amazing clients and customers! WE LOVE YOU! Well with Lone Star Round Up coming up in April, we had to get logos done to make shirts etc! We already had a few logos but then I realized I never had a had a logo for me! So I go and bombard Mando with this and i'm kinda complaining rambling on how I want  a mermaid (I LOVE Mermaids-convinced I was one in my past life! lol) and this and that....

So while i'm ranting I am following Mando into the studio/man cave giving my demands/requests and he points to the wall and this beautiful gal is right there shinning in all her glory! Yes I actually squealed with joy! NO JOKE!!!

So after I finish having a mini-heart attack... I jump online and sent a scanned copy of her to our amazing graphic designer Chuko ZootSuiter-http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001481992702 and he sends back this beautiful logo!!! Yes oh yes you better believe I squealed yet again (Poor Mando I know!! lol) He also sent us Mando's new logo! Amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzing work!

Soon after I start looking into getting our shirts done for Lone Star I then realize how pressed for time we are! So we decided it would be best to just make men's shirts this time around! Fingers crossed for Indy so hopefully by then we will have girl tee's! So any who i'm going through inventory and getting ideas for our Beauty Queen Collection! We have a few vintage purses that are brand new dead stock! I found this giant one in our storage and just was wondering what to do with it? Sell it on etsy as a vintage item or do it up all crazy Brown Magic Paint Co. style?

So after a day of doing so much for the store-getting all of our purses and cosmetic bags in order to start on our new Beauty Queen Collection for spring...I sat there looking at this giant purse. Wondering who bought it and why she never used it. There is not a scratch on it! It appears to have never been used just put into storage for some time.  I sat there thinking and thinking and then I thought Well......its gigantic maybe Mando can stripe it crazy?!? So as usual.... I head over to his lair rambling off my demands how it should have this kind of lettering and striping blab blah blah (I imagine that is how he hears my voice when I get really into describing work orders hahaaa) And he looks up doesn't say anything (in true Mando fashion) I look on his work desk....he is already drawing her out on my purse! We went back and fourth on colors for about a good hour then we finally came up with a combo we thought would do her justice!

So I run grab my camera and start taking pics like crazy! I am using flash on these and yes every time I so am pointing the camera right in Mando's eyes, if he has less than 20/20 vision by the end of the month- I will know its all my doing!

All of this is hand painted I am in awe of how little time it takes him to make such beautiful artwork-I could not paint to save my life! NO JOKE!!!! I fell in love with contrast of colors he used to "make'' her.

So soon after my jumping up and down happy with excitement dance......

I got back to start taking another round of pictures--and I missed it!!! Yes too much happy dance for me!  She was all lettered! This font instantly reminded me of a mystery novel also a little Scooby Doo-ish!

*The orange font made me think of those Michael Myers Halloween movies!*  

Just when I thought this work of art could not get any better....

So just when she is about to be complete...I start my rambling how I want my name here and there with 'this color and this font or maybe that font with this color' Yeah no matter-half way in deep rambling mode-Mando picked up some sublime green(one of my all time favorite colors) and a paint brush and then I stopped talking! ha!!!

and then.......TA DA!!!! ALL FINISHED!!! I can not believe it!!!! Well.... yes I can cause Mando created her! I am still in awe how an idea we spoke about many moons ago (about me having a logo one day) could have turned into this beautiful masterpiece! I am IN LOVE with her and can't wait to get really awesome girl tee's made! I already found a big pvc tote I am gonna ask for him to "Dottie-Logo" out! Jep on top of all the other request I have! Trust me, there is a really long list!!! If you think Santa has it bad....Poor Mando! I really can't help myself-trust me I have tried!
